Kg 1's first happy day to school!

This year the kindergarten introduced a new program for the little ones who join in kg 1. On the first day the child is accompanied by his or her mother through the day. This was to enhance a positive approach to the school and ease the transition from home to school for the child. Children enjoyed a fun day with various activities. The kg 1's also had an orientation for the mothers. Where they were familiarized with the rules and regulations of the schools and the kg 1 curriculum. The children left with a smile on their face with a head band to encourage their return the next day.

Birds and Insects

During the month of June and July we covered our remaining two themes, Birds and Insects. Children enjoyed learning about the themes.

For Al Aqmar's Star of the  week, the theme related was birds. He had created a beautiful chart. His mother completed an activity on weaving with the children.

Our birds board completed. Children created ducks for their art activity.

Insiyah Hakimi brought her pet pigeon from home to share with her class mates.

Murtaza created from home an art piece on the swans.

For our insects theme we made a bee craft. We also learnt about the special life cycle of insects. We completed an activity on the lady bugs life cycle.

Our field trip to the  Nairobi National Museum was great fun. Our children gained an insight about the Kenya culture, wild animals and enjoyed viewing the various birds.
