Water

Our water theme was a great experience and a vast concept.

Children first learnt and observed the three different forms of water.

Children noted the water quantity was less after heating. They learnt about evaporation. On this follow up we did another experiment. We filled two glasses with water and marked the water level with tape. I covered one glass with clear wrap and secured it with a rubber band.  Then we set both glasses in our windowsill.  We observed them every day and recorded the water levels after about two weeks. Children noticed the water level was less and so the water had evaporated.

Children learnt about uses of water. We did a practical activity on washing our school van and pasting activity on clothes cut out for art.

Children learnt about the different bodies and sources of water. We discussed about the largest lake and longest river in Kenya. We also learnt about the lakes and waterfalls near Nairobi.

During the water theme we had range of experiments that children enjoyed discovering. During the Star of the week, children who had their turns their mothers also did some creative experiments. We thank and appreciate their efforts.
