Kg 1 theme: My class and my school

This is the first theme in Kg 1 as the children are learning to settle in. During the first week children learnt the basic about their classroom. They learnt the kind of materials they have and where they are kept.

Children learnt the basic five golden classroom rules. Using puppet stories, games and rhymes children learnt to be kind to their peers by sharing and taking turns, to tidy up after finishing their activity, to raise up their hands when they have something to say, using magic words: please, sorry, thank you and excuse me and using inside voices when they are in class. We made a classroom rules craft to help them remember.

We took a short tour around the school. They met other teachers and visited other classes. Children also learnt the basic playground safety.

Kg 3 theme: Human body and cleanliness

Kg 3 class took a trip to the upper school science lab. Mr. Martin the science lab technician kindly showed the children models of the human body. Children learnt about the skeleton and main body organs and their basic functions.

We learnt about dental care. We talked about why we should keep our teeth clean and how we can keep them clean. Children completed a practical brushing activity. They loved it. They each got a turn using their own personal toothbrush and toothpaste.

Kg 2 theme: Fruits

During the fruit theme children learnt about the different fruits and their physical details. We did a fruit art activity on sticking papers.

We had a fruit tasting day where children explored the different tastes of variety of fruits. Children also learn the importance of eating fruits.

We did another activity where children were blindfolded and given a fruit to taste. They  had to guess the name of the fruit. "Yummy yummy in my tummy"

During Friday activity kg 2 teachers organized an activity on banana. All children learnt the benefits of eating a banana. Kg 2 children performed a rhyme on banana. They did a wonderful job and deserve a pat on the back.
