Parents Noticeboard: August

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to the New Academic Year 2013-14 and to your child's new class, KG 3. Your child's teachers for the new class will be Fatemaben Dossajee and Muniraben Moiz, yes a familiar face from kg 2! We have been busy setting up the class and planning fun activities for the year. We cant wait to get started! The first few weeks of school we will be focusing on settling into the new class, learning class rules, routines and most importantly getting to know your child. “Orientation Day’ will be notified through the school diary.

During the month of September our theme will be “Sports”. We will relate this theme to our upcoming Inter-Madaris Sports Meet. We would like our children to bring any sports related equipment. Kindly ensure all items are labeled. We will return them once we’ve completed the theme. 

PLEASE TAKE NOTE:

We've been celebrating birthdays through out the year. Please note only salwaat milk is allowed as gifts to the class children.

Please ensure you return the reading book with the record keeping card everyday. We want your child to read as many books before the end of the year.

Karzan Hasanah cards and money will be collected every Friday. 

You can send money every Friday for our school's sadaka and nazrul makam collection. This is an exercise carried out to help your child learn its importance.  

Kindly send an old oversize short sleeve shirt for your child to wear during painting. Please ensure it is always in the bag for your child to use. Wash during the weekends.

Every Monday we shall hand out a library book to your child. Please read with your child and send it back before Friday. 

Special Note: "Remember to read with your child as often as possible!

P.E. will take place every Friday. Kindly ensure that your child wears the P.E. uniform under the school uniform and comes wearing sports shoes that day. 

Swimming will be every Tuesday. Kindly make sure your child wears the swimsuit under the school uniform to save changing time. Also send arm bands and swimming cap if available.

Co-operative Learning!

We have started to take the approach of a co-operative learning style in our lessons. We manage to do about two cooperative learning lessons during the week. What we have so far observed is that the children enjoy that more as its instructions given and rest they have to work it out amongst themselves.

We've been successfully going through our last term. We have begun with our assessments and remedials, our aim is to identify the concepts still unclear in the children's mind, so we can help them to get it RIGHT!

Project on hand: Healthy and Junk Food!

We had a big turnout of parents at Orientation. I am thankful of the moms who took the time to come and show your support at PARENTS AS PARTNERS!

Orientation Day for our class is on Thursday 27th September, 2012.
Please Note: Swimming is also on Thurdays for our class.

TREE PLANTING DAY!

One Friday morning, we all went to the playground and planted a tree, all of us laid the seedling in the ground and then we each got a turn to water it. A month later it has grown a fine height and sturdy.

AFEW!

Like every year, this year again we participated in the A.F.E.W Competition. This year's topic was, Green Economy, Our Future. We did group work projects with the children and we also had children bring in their individual entries for the Art Competition.

Say NO to Moharramaat!

We had a moharramaat week! We looked at all the things that were haram, we also in depth talked about the side effects of the haram things. We also pointed out to ingredients that we should be in the look out for when we make a purchase of something.
We made arm bands and also drew in our books the things that are Moharramaat.

A trip to the Animal Orphanage

In the month of January, we were learning about Wild Animals. We took a trip to the Nairobi Animal Orphanage, a place where all the forest animals are caged. The children had a wonderful time coming as close as they probably ever would to the wild animals.
